Tottenham Hostpur could yet bring Nuri Sahin to the club after it was reported that Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho was set to have a sit down discussion with the midfielder to discuss his future.

Sahin had previously stated that he would be unwilling to join Tottenham as part of any deal for Luka Modric, but it seems he could yet arrive at White Hart Lane on a season-long loan deal.

The Turkey international struggled to make an impact at Real Madrid last season after completing a move from German champions Nuri Sahin and he was limited to a handful of appearances in the league.

The Metro is reporting that while Real Madrid have told him that he can leave on a permanent deal, Sahin would prefer to secure a year-long loan in order to put him in the shopping window for a potentially bigger club.

Sahin is currently with Real Madrid on their pre-season tour of the United States and could have his future decided within the next 48 hours as he prepares to meet with Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager does not seem him as an important member of the first team squad and is willing to allow him to leave, with Arsenal and Manchester United also mentioned as a possible destination.

Mourinho would prefer to sell the 23-year-old as he looks to free up a place in his squad for Tottenham midfielder Modric who is keen to make the move to the Bernabeu.

Sahin may not have demonstrated his talent in Spain, but he was considered one of the hottest prospects in the Bundesliga when he helped Dortmund lift the league title.

He spent six years with the German side and made more than 150 appearances as he became instrumental in building a side that has since gone on to dominate as last year they won the league and cup double.
