Tottenham Hotspur are all set to offload midfielder Tom Huddlestone and central defender Michael Dawson before the end of the transfer season, reports the Independent.

Both the players do not seem to fit in Andre Villas-Boas' plans as they were not included in most of the pre-season games as well as the Spurs' 1-2 loss against Newcastle United at St James Park.

Huddlestone, who missed out nearly the whole of last season following a serious ankle injury that needed two surgeries, has not been given many starts in the Spurs pre-season friendlies (after now being fully fit) despite the absence of the injured Scott Parker.

The 25-year-old playmaker was reportedly considering making a move to the Major League soccer (United States) on a temporary basis at the end of last season.

However, despite American clubs including San Jose Earthquakes and DC United being interested, he could not complete his move owing to some MLS rules. Now, Villas-Boas is looking to loan him out, with Stoke City being the favourites to land the former Derby County man.

Dawson, on the other hand, is on the transfer market (on sale) after finding himself down the pecking order below defenders William Gallas, Steven Caulker, Younes Kaboul and Jan Vertonghen in spite of being a regular starter for Tottenham under former boss Harry Redknapp last season.

The 28-year-old defender's 2011/2012 campaign was also plagued by many injuries including a ruptured ankle ligament that threatened to ruin his career. Despite making a full recovery from his injury, the former Nottingham Forest man was ignored by Villas-Boas despite skippering the Spurs in the pre-season fixtures.

Although the defender was initially on the radar of Stoke City, he is now reportedly being targeted by Queen Park Rangers, who are looking for a good defender after receiving a 5-0 drubbing at home by Swansea City.

Apart from Dawson, QPR manager Mark Hughes is also reportedly targeting Barcelona centre back Andreu Fontas and Saint Etienne defender Kurt Zouma as a replacement for Matthew Connolly, who is all set to make a move to Cardiff City.
