Tottenham are reportedly set to begin their January clear-out after six players were identified as surplus to requirement.

According to the Mirror, Mauricio Pochettino is keen to get rid of players who have failed to impress him and make place for new arrivals.

Aaron Lennon, Paulinho, Etienne Capoue, Kyle Naughton, Younes Kaboul, and Emmanuel Adebayor are the six players, who are set to be sold during the ongoing January transfer window.

Among the six players, Lennon is the one in most demand as various Premier League clubs are interested in signing the speedy winger, with Crystal Palace thought to be favourites along with West Bromwich Albion. A fee in the region of £8.5m is said to be enough to prize the winger from White Hart Lane.

Brazilian Paulinho is another casualty of Pochettino's reign and the midfielder, who joined Spurs for a reported £16.5m is set to return to his native with Corinthians interested in taking their former player back.

Another midfielder, who has failed to impress since his move from Toulouse is Capoue, who is likely to leave on loan during the transfer window with Serie A club Napoli interested in signing him.

Full-back Naughton was a regular in the Spurs team at the start of the season, but following the return of Kyle Walker and the summer arrival of Eric Dier has seen him lose his place in the team and the Argentine manager is ready to sell him to interested clubs.

The final two players on the manager's list to receive the cull are Kaboul and Adebayor. The former was the manager's first-choice at the start of the season and was named captain ahead of Hugo Lloris and Jan Vertonghen.

But summer arrival Federico Fazio, who struggled to adapt to the pace of the English league initially has now made the centre-back role his own leaving the French defender on the bench in recent games. Besiktas and Fenerbache are reportedly interested in taking him to Turkey.

Besiktas, who are managed by Salven Bilic's are also supposedly interested in the Togo striker, who has completely lost his place in the Tottenham team with Harry Kane taking over as Spurs' outright first-choice striker.

Tottenham have recently been linked to various players, like Marseille's Andre Ayew and Juventus' Sebastian Giovinco among others and they could arrive once Pochettino has completed his January clear-out.
