Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling is a major doubt for Saturday's (15 April) Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur after suffering an injury setback.

Gosling, 27, suffered a knock injury during the goalless draw with Southampton earlier this month, an injury which ruled him out of last Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Chelsea.

Cherries manager Eddie Howe had been hopeful of the former Everton and Newcastle United midfielder returning in time for Saturday's trip to White Hart Lane but those plans appear are now in doubt.

"I felt Dan would be fit and available for this game but I am not so sure now," Howe told a press conference on Thursday. "He has had a setback this week."

Gosling appears set to remain on the sidelines along with fellow midfielder Andrew Surman, whose season was ended during the draw with Southampton.

The Cherries will however be bolstered by the return of Tyrone Mings. The 24-year-old is available for selection again having served a five-match ban for the violent conduct after appearing to stamp on Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The defender was initially handed a three-match ban for the incident that took place during the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday 4 March, only for the FA to extend it.

Mings has missed games against West Ham United, Swansea City, Southampton, Liverpool and Chelsea as a result of the lengthy ban but Howe suggests the defender will come straight back into the first-team.

"He's been frustrated because he's fit and he's had a long-term injury to contend with previously," Howe added. "It can seem like a long time five games so we're delighted to have him back."

Howe's side held Spurs to a goalless draw at Dean Court back in October but Mauricio Pochettino's side are on a roll as they aim to keep pace with league leaders Chelsea, having won their last six Premier League games.
