Tracy Morgan, who suffered a horrific car crash in June 2014, is all set to return to showbiz doing what he does best. The actor will be hosting the new season of Saturday Night Live this fall.

The news was announced via the SNL Twitter account on 17 August which revealed that Morgan, Amy Schumer and Miley Cyrus will be kicking off season 41 of the popular live television sketch comedy show.

The 30 Rock star also tweeted that he was looking forward "to be going home".

Morgan's career kicked off on SNL and the actor remained a cast member on the show from 1996 to 2003. His other hit show - 30 Rock - with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin was also loosely inspired by the behind-the-scenes events of SNL.

In June 2015, Morgan gave his first interview to Matt Lauer on Today, and expressed surprise at having survived the crash. "I can't believe I'm here; I can't believe I'm in front of you," an emotional Morgan said. You can click here to watch the interview online.
