The latest transfer rumours from Inter Milan for 16 August 2011. Inter Milan are reportedly ready to make a bid for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan. Also, Samuel Eto'o is said to be close to leaving the San Siro and reports in England and Italy claim that Wesley Sneijder is closer to joining Manchester City. The Italian media also claims that Inter are monitoring the situation of Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Reports from Italy claim that Samuel Eto'o is on the verge of signing for Russian league side Anzhi Makhachkala.

Reports claim that the Cameroonian forward is set to agree terms with the club this week and will join Roberto Carlos and former Chelsea full back Yuri Zhirkov at the club. The fee is reported to be around £25m and Eto'o is expected to sign a deal worth £15-£20m a season.

It is believed that the Inter Milan forward will undergo a medical in Rome on Thursday with the Russian club pencilling in a media day on Friday to officially announce the deal. Eto'o began his career in Europe with Real Madrid and had spells at Real Mallorca and Barcelona before moving to Inter Milan in 2009.

Inter Milan are said to be weighing up a move for former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan.

The Italian giants have put the Uruguayan forward at the top of their priority list if Samuel Eto'o leaves the club this summer. Inter have said that they will only pay around £10m for the striker whose minimum release clause stands at £38m. However, because of Forlan's advancing years Inter feel their valuation of the player must come down if a deal is to be done.

Reports in Spain claim that Atletico are willing to reduce their asking price for Forlan if they land Porto hit man Radamel Falcao.

Inter Milan are said to be weighing up a move for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

According to Corriere dello Sport Inter will look to Higuain as a potential replacement for Eto'o. Inter Milan will seek talks with Real Madrid as soon as Eto'o leave the San Siro over a potential move for the Argentine forward. It is believed that Inter Milan will use the bulk of the Eto'o fee to fund a move for the Madrid man.

Reports in England claim that Manchester City could still be willing to make an offer for Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has already said that he will not make an offer for the midfielder this summer leaving the path clear for Manchester City to make a bid. However, the Daily Express claims that Manchester City are not interested in signing Sneijder with the deal as it stands but is believed that if Sneijder lowered his wage demands the club may revisit the situation.

It is also believed that if Sneijder is willing to lower his demands, Manchester United could be interested in Sneijder once more. The transfer saga is set to rumble on to the end of the transfer window.
