The Sun reports that Tottenham have agreed a loan deal with Manchester City for striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Togolese striker is said to be having a medical at White Hart lane this afternoon and Tottenham will hope to confirm this signing later on Wednesday evening. Tottenham are said to be paying as much as 50 per cent of Adebayor's £170,000 a week wages but the striker will be unable to make his debut against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Daily Mail claims that Arsene Wenger was forced to sell Samir Nasri to Manchester City because of 'physiological and financial' reasons.

The newspaper claims that Wenger was forced to sell Nasri because of the France midfielder's refusal to sign a new deal with the club and Arsenal could not match Manchester City's offer of trebling Nasri's wages to a staggering £180,000 a week.

The Daily Mail claims that Arsene Wenger is set to invest a large chunk of both the Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri transfer fees on Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila.

The France midfielder is said to be the man Wenger wants to replace Cesc Fabregas with and is said to be desperate to sign the player before the end of the transfer window. The Daily Mail claims that Wenger is keen to ease the midfield crisis at the Emirates. Wenger is said to be willing to increase his first £15m offer to £22m to tempt Rennes to sell their star player.

The Daily Mail also reports that Tottenham will now allow Luka Modric to leave the club this summer.

After days of speculation that Harry Redknapp's stance on keeping the player was waning, the newspaper has revealed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has told Stamford Bridge that he will not accept their new £30m bid for the Croatian star and has wanted them off making further bids for the player.

Sticking with Chelsea, the Daily Telegraph has claimed that Chelsea have submitted a £16.6 million bid to sign Alvaro Pereira. The newspaper claims that Andre Villas-Boas wants the left back this summer to provide real competition for places at Stamford Bridge and the Portuguese tactician wants the player this summer after his staring role in Uruguay's Copa America victory.

La Liga

Spanish daily Marca have said that Inter Milan is still chasing a deal for Real Madrid star Kaka. The newspaper claims that Inter Milan are monitoring the situation and believes that a £25m bid for the former world player of the year will be enough to tempt Jose Mourinho to sell.

Serie A

Samuel Eto'o will today become the highest-paid player in world football after agreeing a staggering three-year deal worth £350,000 per week to join Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

The super-rich Russians will pay Italian giants Inter Milan £21million for the 30-year-old Cameroon striker who jets in to complete the formalities today. Anzhi are owned by billionaire oil tycoon Suleiman Kerimov who has sanctioned the mammoth wage deal that will see Eto'o surge past the rest of the world's top earners on the football rich list.

Inter Milan's Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder picks up £250,000 per week while Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo pockets £210,000. Manchester City reportedly pay £38m signing Sergio Aguero £200,000 per week, a similar figure to team-mate Yaya Toure.
