Chelsea feature heavily in the transfer rumours for 29 September 2011. The Metro claims that the club are set to pip Arsenal for the signature of Bolton and England defender Gary Cahill.

Arsenal looked the favourites to land the defender in the summer but could not agree a price for the defender and now the newspaper claims Chelsea are leading the race to sign the player and will offer Bolton a significant transfer fee in January.

According to football blog site InsideFutbol, Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is ready to make a bid for Real Madrid defensive midfielder Samir Khedira.

The German international has come under intense criticism from Jose Mourinho after Real Madrid's defeat to Levante and with the wealth of midfield options that the Bernabeu club have at their disposal, Chelsea will be looking to land their man this January.

Brazillian side Corinthians and Real Madrid are the latest clubs to be linked with a move for Carlos Tevez.

The Argentine striker's career at Manchester City is all but over and according to Sambafoot two of his former clubs are in for his signature. Boca Juniors and Corinthians are both looking to sign him but it is believed Corinthians could have the upper hand.

They tabled several bids in the summer but ran out of time to seal the deal. However, they could afford to bring Tevez in for a transfer fee which Manchester City would be likely to accept, while Boca Juniors have no funds available.

Caughtoffside have gone with a different angle. The football blog site claims that Real Madrid will offer Manchester City £25m for the player this January with the website claiming Roberto Mancini will accept the offer.

Manchester City have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi. The Italian is said to be in deep negotiation talks with Roma sporting director Walter Sabatani and the club are optimistic the Italian midfielder will extend his contract despite interest from Manchester City.

And finally, remember David Beckham? The Metro claims Queens Park Rangers co-owner Amit Bhatia has confirmed the club's intention of offering David Beckham a playing contract in November. Beckham's deal with MLS side LA Galaxy expires in November and QPR owners Tony Fernandes and Bhatia are eager to make him their next big name signing.
