Premier League

The Sun kick off today's transfer rumours by claiming Arsenal are ready to offer debt ridden Valencia upwards if £18m for striker Juan Mata. The Spanish star was instrumental in the Spanish under 21 side that won the recent European Championship's and after sending scouts to the tournament, Arsene Wenger is ready to bid for the player. According to the newspaper, Arsenal are ready to offer £18m plus incentives in order to get their man, with Valencia over £300m in debt the Spanish club are expected to offload their stars this summer.

The Mirror claims that Manchester United is set to offer Barcelona £15m for their highly rated youngster Thiago Alcantara. The midfielder was the star of Spain's Euro under 21 squad that defeated Switzerland 2-0 in Saturday's final. The newspaper claim that Barcelona wants a buy back clause on the player, something Manchester Unted will not accept. Barcelona are said to be willing to offload the youngster however, not to a Champions League rival. With Thiago not set to feature for Barcelona next season, it may be difficult to keep their highly rated midfielder.

The Daily Mail reports that Galatasaray will allow Arda Turan to join Chelsea for £7m but want Didier Drogba in return. The left winger has been the subject of recent transfer speculation and the club have been alerted to the player by former coach Guus Hiddink. It could also represent a last pay day for Didier Drogba as he prepares to end his stay at Stamford Bridge.

The Mirror and the Sun claim that Manchester City is set to launch their summer spending spree with four signings. The Mirror claims the club are close to agreeing a deal to sign Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto'o. The Cameroon striker is ready to leave the San Siro and the newspaper claim that Manchester City has successfully fought off interest from PSG to sign the striker.

The Sun claims that Roberto Mancini is ready to show his hand in the transfer market and invest heavily in three players. The newspaper claim that Mancini will look to tie up deals for Fiorentina's Alessio Cerci, Partizan Belgrade's highly rated defender Stefan Savic and Argentina international goalkeeper Sergio Romero. The paper concluded that Mancini is looking to build a squad capable of challenging on all four fronts next season and believes he can sign all three players for less than £20m.

The Telegraph claim that new Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is ready to move into the transfer market, After selling Ashley Young to Manchester United for £16m last week, McLeish is now ready to invest some of that money. The newspaper claims that Alex McLeish has highlighted Ben Foster and Charles N'Zogbia as his top two targets. The newspaper accept that McLeish will have to wait for emotions in the City to calm down before trying to sign Ben Foster but he will look to tie up a deal for Charles N'Zogbia as soon as possible.

Reports in The Daily Express claim that Stoke are to try and test Birmingham's resolve and make a bid for both Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome. The players, relegated with Birmingham are on long terms deal but Stoke boss believes relegation will tempt Birmingham to cash in. The Express says that Pullis' offer will be rejected out of hand but the Stoke boss will come back with a second offer that could involve some very favourable incentives for the Championship club.

Continuing with the Express, the paper claims Liverpool are set to step up their efforts to sign Stewart Downing and Charlie Adam. They believe Liverpool will be able to sign Downing for £18m and Adam for £10m, with the two deals being the last the club will make this summer.

Elsewhere in Europe.......

Real Madrid feature heavily Monday's gossip columns. Reports in Italy claim the club are willing to allow Brazilian midfielder Kaka to leave the club. Jose Mourinho is said to be becoming increasingly frustrated with the amount of injuries Kaka has been getting since his arrival to the Bernebeu and is ready to cash in on the player. AC Milan, Chelsea and PSG are all said to be monitoring the midfielder's situation.

Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntair has said that he is available for transfer and will look at all destinations around the world. The Ghanaian forward, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland, is said to want a move to the MLS but will look at offers from Europe and Japan.

Bayer Leverkusen director of football Rudi Voller has confirmed that AC Milan have made an offer for Arturo Vidal. Vidal was expected to complete a move to Bayern Munich but the deal has hit a brick wall and AC Milan is ready to step in. The left winger, out of contract next summer, has rejected a new deal to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, will now be sold in order for the club to recoup some capital for the player. AC Milan have bid around £10m and Leverkusen may be forced to take a price cut on the player or risk losing him for nothing next summer.
