After the super-success of Transformers: Age of Extinction, fans are eagerly waiting for updates on the sequel of the Michael Bay directed live action thriller.

There are reports that Bay may not come back to the hugely popular franchise to helm the fifth Transformer movie.

Rumour mills are abuzz that after delivering a blockbuster with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, director Jonathan Liebesman may direct the fan favourite movie.

Enstarz reports that the Liebesman directed movie starring Megan Fox was produced by Bay and had the signature style of Bay's Transformers.

According to the entertainment website, if the Transformers sequel is directed by Liebesman, the fifth instalment of the highly popular live action movie will bear some resemblance to that of Bay's movie.

Age of Extinction became one of the highest grossing movies of 2014 while critics thrashed the movie for lack of a story and its over the top action sequences.

Meanwhile, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Age of Extinction have been nominated in the category of the worst film of the year at the Razzies.

Transformers 4 ended with Optimus Prime flying into space to meet the Creators to seek answers from them. He also takes the destroyer seed along with him.

Mark Wahlberg confirmed that he will be doing the rest of the movies in the franchise as per his deal with the movie production house.

The much anticipated sequel may feature his journey into outer space, while his army of Autobots will stay on earth to protect human kind from the Decepticons.

Transformers 5 is expected to be released in 2016.
