Overview

Defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders have had a disappointing tournament so far winning just one of their three games, finding themselves fourth on the points table with just two points from three games.

They come into this clash on the back of a six-wicket loss to Guyana Amazon Warriors on 2 July. Kiwi Colin Munro scored the first hundred of the tournament, off just 65 balls, but that was not enough as the rest of the batsmen failed to rally around him.

The Knight Riders' main problem is that their bowlers have not backed the batsmen, with only Sunil Narine and to an extent skipper Dwayne Bravo being effective. The Trinbago outfit will need their big guns to fire as they must start winning games to qualify for the knock-out stages.

The Jamaica Tallawahs had a brilliant start to their campaign winning their first game against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on 2 July. Kesrick Williams was the star of the Jamaica outfit, picking up three wickets to take home the player of the match award.

What would delight the team management is that superstars Andre Russell and skipper Chris Gayle hit the ground running makin crucial contributions.

The Tallawahs have played only one game so far and are currently third on the points table with two points and a win here will take them to the joint top spot with Guyana Amazon Warriors.
