Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil remasters heading to PC

N64 quasi-classics Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil are going to be re-released digitally on PC. Night Dive Studios is handling the restoration of the two games first released in 1997 on PC and 1999 on Nintendo's home console.

A press release announcing the remasters promises that the two games "will be re-mastered for today's modern computers with enhanced graphics and other improvements." They will be sold via Steam, GOG, GamersGate, Greenman Gaming, the Humble Bundle Store and through Night Dive's own website.

"When Turok: Dinosaur Hunter was first released it was nothing short of revolutionary," says Night Dive CEO and founder Stephen Kick. "To that point, no game had ever offered the combination of graphics and an open world environment that Turok featured. We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring this great franchise back to life and to be able to share these great titles with today's gaming audience."

Turok's first two video games were developed by Iguana Entertainment with later sequels coming in the form of Turok: Rage Wars, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion – both on N64. In 2002 Turok: Evolution was released on PS2, Xbox and GameCube before an attempted reboot in 2008. No games have been released since.

The games are based on a comic book character who first appeared back in the 1950s in Four Color Comics, published by Western Publishing.

No release date for the two remasters has been given.
