Turkish basketball outfit Anadolu Efes have come up with a unique advertising campaign to promote the side - by treating their star players to a candid-camera style practical joke.

When club officials sent the squad to a classical music concert in Istanbul, they struggled to maintain their interest.

Players could be seen checking their watches and looking bored, and one was even asleep.

But towards the end of the performance, the rest of the audience - who were actually paid actors - began, one by one, signing a Turkish pop song "No one better than you".

Then the house lights dropped, and when they came back up again, the cheering crowd were waving flags and scarves in Anadolu Efes' traditional colours.

The players' initial boredom, and their subsequent surprise, was all captured on hidden cameras, and will be used to promote the club as they seek to increase their fanbase.

Based in Istanbul, Anadolu Efes were founded in 1976 and have won the Turkish Championship 13 times, and the Turkish Cup nine times, and are regulars in the Euroleague.
