Tweetbot
An updated version of Tweetbot which brings iCloud that can sync timelines and other twitter feautures has been released. Apple

Developer Tapbots has released an updated version of the Tweetbot, a full-featured iPhone twitter client, which brings iCloud sync for various features on both iPhone and iPad.

The updated version 2.2's iCloud allows to sync timeline settings, Direct Messages (DM) and Mute Filters across all of the iOS devices that run Tweetbot and iCloud integration.

Tweetbot 2.2 has other features including thumbnail previews for better handling of iTunes link and YouTube videos, as well as various bug fixes.

Earlier, users were able to sync timeline positions across various Twitter clients using the Tweet Marker service, but no other settings were shared between applications. Now using Tweetbot's new version allows to sync with Direct Messages's (DM) read status and also mute filters.

With this integration, if users switch between devices while checking on timelines, they can still see the timelines from where they left it. For example, if you are going through your timeline on your iPhone but then you choose it to switch over to your iPad, the new integration with iCloud will help the users to start reading timelines from where they left off in their iPhone.

Similarly, if you read a Direct Message on your iPhone it will also be automatically marked as read on the iPad too.

Tweetbot makes separate versions available now for both the iPad and iPhone at a cost of $2.99 each. While iOS 4.1 is required for the iPhone version, iOS 5 is required for the iPad version to sync the Tweetbot with iCloud integration. The sync features require an iCloud account, which requires iOS 5 or later on mobile devices.

List of features of Tweetbot include:

  • iCloud Integration (Must be logged into iCloud)
  • Mute filters synced across instances of Tweetbot
  • DM read status synced across all instances of Tweetbot when iCloud is selected for Sync
  • Timeline positions are synced across all instances of Tweetbot that have iCloud selected for Sync
  • Better handling of iTunes links along with thumbnail previews
  • Youtube links provide thumbnail previews
  • Fixed iPad retina image preview in the tweet detail
  • Pinch to close image view on iPad
  • Bug fixes
