A man and a woman have been charged with manslaughter and causing or allowing the death of a child after a toddler died of a heroin overdose.

Simon Jones, 29, and Emma Bradburn, 33, are due to appear in Wolverhampton Magistrates Court following the death of 23-month-old Daniel Jones in May.

He was pronounced dead when paramedics were called to a house in the Penn area of Wolverhampton on 29 May.

His death was initially treated as unexplained but the results of extensive forensic tests revealed the toddler died of a heroin overdose.
