Two people have been arrested and charged with murder after a man's body was found dismembered and hidden under a mobile home in South Carolina, local media have reported. 40-year-old Dawn Michelle Wilkins and 19-year-old Jacob Bridges were arrested and charged with murder, the Cherokee County Sheriff told Fox Carolina.

The body was reportedly that of 51-year-old Gary James Stone. His corpse was found on Thursday (9 November), the county coroner said, adding that the body was found "dismembered in several containers under the residence."

Bridges is reportedly Wilkins' son, with Wilkins being Stone's common-law wife. Authorities found the body after Stone's family said they had not heard from him and were worried.

When authorities first attended the property, Wilkin's told them that Stone had left after the couple had argued and she had not heard from him since, the sheriff said. Deputies were then tipped off on Thursday that some had been killed at the residence, the Associated Press reported.

AP reported that Sheriff Steve Mueller said Bridge had admitted his involvement but that Wilkins' had not. The case is still under investigation. Online records from Cherokee County jail, where both suspects are being held, said a bond had not yet been set for Wilkins or Bridges.
