UK: Man found dead in bushes in South-East London

A man's body has been found in bushes in south-east London, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to Sydenham Hill on Friday (21 August) evening after the body was discovered. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers also found a firearm nearby. Police would not comment on the nature of the man's injuries.

No-one had been arrested and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
