The music world is rocked by another death of a musical legend. As Robin Gibb died on Sunday after a long fight with cancer. Robin who with brothers Barry and Maurice formed the Bee Gees, were among the biggest-selling groups of all time alongside The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd.
They were famous for their falsetto harmonies and defined the disco era on smash hits such as “ Night Fever”, “Stayin' Alive", “How Deep is your love”, “Jive Talkin” and “Massachusetts” which was a hit back in the 60’s.
It was said that the Bee Gees were second only to Lennon and McCartney as the most successful song writing unit in British popular music and Robin had one of the best white soul voices in the music business.
While Over in the US at The Billboard Awards ceremony as the news was released about Robin’s death, a moment of silence was held. There were also musical tributes paid to Donna Summer who died last week, Whitney Houston and Adam Yauch from the Beasty Boys.
Robin had recently written a song with the Soldiers to raise money for the HELP FOR HEROES campaign called ‘I gotta message for you’
Robin Gibb died at the weekend following a long illness. A musical legend who will be sorely missed.
