A man is being questioned by police in connection with the murder of a young woman in an East Sussex seaside town. The 20-year-old victim, who has not been formally identified, was found stabbed at a house on Sutherland Avenue in Bexhill-on-Sea at around 1.35pm on Friday 27 August.

Emergency services were called, but she died at the scene. The 21-year-old suspect, who is believed to have been known to the victim, was arrested by police after they searched the area.

Detective Chief Inspector Mike Ashcroft said: "We are in the early stages of the investigation and are appealing to anyone who heard any disturbance or saw anything suspicious around this time in Sutherland Avenue to contact police."
