Google Nexus 7 Official Accessories Leaked: From Stand Cases to Screen Protector [PHOTOS]
The latest report from Tech Radar citing Mobile Fun reveals that five official accessories for Nexus 7 have been leaked. Google

The new Google Nexus 7 tablet is the first device to run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Regardless of running on the new OS, it seems the developers have not stopped from porting the CyanogenMod 10 to the Nexus 7. Google unveiled its newest Nexus 7 tablet at Google I/O. Owners of the new tablet will now be able to get a taste of the CM10. Thanks to the efforts of XDA Senior Member winner00 for releasing CM10 based on Jelly Bean for Nexus 7. However, as it is a preview build there might be a lot of bugs. "This is CM10 Alpha for the Nexus 7," claims Winner00. "There might be bugs but everything should be working."

Pre-requisites: Please keep in mind that the method is compatible only with Nexus 7 and not with any other device. The method will wipe away all the data, apps and settings. IBTimes UK advises users to perform a back-up of all data and APN settings.

  • Unlock the bootloader on Nexus 7 by using the Nexus Root Toolkit.
  • Install the ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery on tablet.
  • Download ROM from the official thread on xda-developers.
  • Download Google Apps package from here.
  • Copy both the downloaded files from step 3 and step 4 to your tablet's internal SDcard.
  • Switch off your tablet and then boot into recovery. To do so, press and hold Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons until the device boots into CWM recovery.
  • Make a Nandroid back-up of your existing ROM. In order to make the back-up go back to Backup and Restore > Select Backup on the next screen. Go back to the main recovery menu after the back-up.
  • Select Wipe Data/ Factory Reset and choose "Yes" to confirm.
  • Select Install Zip option from SDcard. Now, select choose Zip from SDcard and select ROM file. Choose "Yes" to confirm installation. The ROM will begin installing.
  • After installing ROM, select choose zip from SDcard once again and choose gapps-jb-20120717-signed.zip file in order to install Google Apps package.
  • After the installation, go back and choose reboot system now to reboot the device and boot into CM10.

The CM10, based on Jelly Bean is now installed on your Nexus 7.
