Video footage has been released which shows giant hailstones the size of baseballs smash a driver's car windscreen in the US. Chris Heater and Evan Hatch were filming a tornado that was tearing through Tipton, Oklahoma, when the storm began to shower their car with giant hailstones.
As the two drive away from the tornado the hailstones begin to hit the car's windscreen, smashing the screen and causing severe damage. The giant storm that stretched across the US midwest from Texas to Minnesota, leaving thousands without power. Texas and Oklahoma were the hardest hit but there have so far been no reports of major damage or deaths.
