R'n'B superstar Usher Raymond has enlisted the help of a top lawyer to hunt down the person trying to sell his stolen sex tape to the highest bidder.

An X-rated video featuring the singer and former wife Tameka Raymond got into the wrong hands back in 2009 when two laptops, two video cameras and hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth jewellery was stolen from his car.

Fast forward four years and the smutty clip is reportedly being touted around Hollywood for an undisclosed sum.

According to TMZ, adult film companies are refusing to touch the sex tape without written consent from the Good Kisser hitmaker so the peddlers are going straight to the blogs with the illegal clip.

With the help of lawyer Mark Geragos, Usher hopes to stop the video ever going public by claiming it is stolen property.

Usher and Tameka married in 2007. Their less than amicable 2009 divorce sparked a bitter custody battle for their sons Usher Raymond V, aged six, and Naviyd, five, that lasted three years.

In August 2012, the 35-year-old performer was awarded primary care of the children after a ruling by a Georgia judge.

Considering the star has now moved on with his manager and Def Jam executive Grace Miguel, there is a good chance that he doesn't want a constant reminder of the failed romance.

Usher is not the first and will not be the last celebrity to have a home video leaked online.

Hulk Hogan, Tulisa Contostavlos and Kim Kardashian are just a few stars who have had their intimate moments exposed.
