Gary Neville will hope to taste his first victory in La Liga when Valencia take on Getafe at the Mestalla on 19 December.

Where to watch

Kick-off is set for 3pm GMT. The game is not scheduled for live broadcast in the UK.

Overview

Gary Neville secured his first win as Valencia coach on 16 December with a 2-0 victory against third-tier Barakaldo in the Copa del Rey. The former Manchester United defender is yet to mastermind a victory in La Liga, however, with his first league match in charge ending in a 1-1 draw against Eibar last weekend.

Rodrigo, Diego Alves, Sofiane Feghouli and Enzo Perez are all ruled out for the visit of Getafe through injury, but playmaker Dani Parejo is available again after serving a one-match ban.

Getafe brought a three-game winless run to a halt by beating Rayo Vallecano 3-1 at home in the Copa del Rey in midweek, but were still knocked out of the tournament as they had lost the first leg 2-0. The Madrid side have finished on the losing side in five of their last six La Liga encounters with Valencia.

The visitors are without the injured quartet of Carlos Vigaray, Emiliano Velazquez, Emiliano Buendia and Alvaro Medran for the trip to the Mestalla.

What managers say

Gary Neville: "I'm happy with the result [against Barakaldo]. As a coach you always think in what things you can improve and what you did do well. There were some things we could have done better tonight and some things we did well. In the second half, we improved a lot in playing out from the back. The talent is there, the ability is there, it's just making sure we do it consistently."

Fran Escriba: "I'm annoyed because my players deserved the win [against Rayo Vallecano]. A defensive lapse cost us dearly in the end."
