Damon is all set to destroy Mystic Falls in order to stop the Travellers and Markos The Vampire Diaries/Facebook

Vampire Diaries Season 5 will air its 'explosive' finale on Thursday night in which Damon is getting ready to set Mystic Falls on fire.

In the final episode 'Home' Damon is all set with 'Project Kaboom' to blow up the entire Mystic Falls so as to stop the deadly attacks by Markos and the Travellers.

Damon will seek the help of the other vampires, including Elena to blow up the city, and stop Markos.

Fans had got the shock of their lives in the previous episode 'Promised Land', when Stefan was killed trying to save Caroline, and Damon was bewildered to find his twin brother's lifeless body.

Damon will leave no stone unturned to bring Stefan back from the Other Side which is disintegrating due to the Travellers.

In an exclusive clip released by TVGuide, Damon can be seen threatening Bonnie and reminding her that if the Other Side is destroyed, so will she.

"You said you had a plan, Bonnie!" Damon shouts at Bonnie. "Do you think I want to die?" Bonnie replies.

Here is the official synopsis of the finale of CW's vampire drama via Entertainment website Hwhills:

"Heartbroken by an unexpected tragedy, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will be focused on holding himself together, while pushing Bonnie (Kat Graham) harder than ever to find a way to stop the disintegration of the Other Side."

"Elena (Nina Dobrev) will take matters into her own hands, and demands that Liv (guest star Penelope Mithcell) and Luke (guest star Chris Broshu) help her, but Liv will refuse to cooperate until Caroline (Candice Accola) provides her with some personal motivation."

It will be interesting to see if Damon sacrifices his life to bring back his brother from the dead and how he stops Markos from ruining the Other Side.

Meanwhile, Ian Somerhalder (Damon) told Spoiler TV that 'stakes will be raised and when people die this time, they will stay dead' in the finale.

Fans also need to grab more tissues while watching the finale of TVD as executive producer Caroline Dries told the same website that there could be three more deaths in the finale. "I can think of three, off-hand," Dries told TVGuide.
