Vampire Diaries season 6: Damon to investigate case involving Elena's parents as Jeremy leaves Mystic Falls

The Vampire Diaries season 6 will bid goodbye to one of its most loving characters this week as Jeremy leaves Mystic Falls to join art school.

Elena will try to cope with the vacuum as her little brother leaves the never ending drama to try and lead a normal life.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Forbes seeks Damon's help to investigate a case that involves Elena's parents.

Episode 14 of TVD will feature some moving scenes between the brother-sister duo as they brace themselves for the separation.

In the previous episode, Damon, Elena and Jeremy took Kai's help to fix the ascendant and learned that Bonnie is planning to end her life.

Kai uses his magic to transport Jeremy to the Other Side and help Bonnie drop her suicidal attempt even though the Bennett witch can't see him.

His attempts save the day for fans as Bonnie decides to live and opens the car door before the smoke damages her lungs.

The official synopsis for episode 14 titled 'Stay' reads:

"It's Jeremy's last day in Mystic Falls and Elena puts on a brave face as they reminisce about their past. Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) find themselves growing closer as they prepare Caroline's family cabin for her mother to live out her final days. While packing up her office, Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacInytre) turns to Damon (Ian Somerhalder) for help solving one of her remaining open cases involving Elena's parents. Elsewhere, when a violent confrontation with Enzo (Michael Malarkey) leaves Jeremy wondering whether he should leave or not, Matt (Zach Roerig) finds his own life on the line after Enzo lures him and Sarah Salvatore (guest star Tristan Mays) into his dangerous plan. Lastly, Caroline rushes to the hospital after learning her mother has taken a turn for the worse."

In the previous episode Stefan and Caroline almost kissed while they were searching for a teddy bear in order to track Bonnie.

Their chemistry in the show looks obvious and fans are expecting the Steroline romance to heat up as Sherriff Forbes may soon breathe her last.
