Vampire Diaries season 6 has kept surprising fans with one twist after another, but here's one that will give fans the biggest shock.

Actor/director Ian Somerhalder has teased that the future for Delena is faint, while Bamon's love may flourish in the upcoming episodes of CW's supernatural thriller.

In the previous episode, Damon learns that his mother Lily was alive and in the prison world of 1903. He then reaches out to Bonnie and Kai for help to rescue his mother. And Elena will remain with her former love, to help him locate and save his mother.

She is also trying to help out Stefan in dealing with the grieving Caroline, after her mother's death.

However, Kai reveals some bad news about the Salvatore mother to her son. He tells Damon that his mother was a ripper and turned into a vampire in 1858, before faking her death and had killed nearly 3000 people before getting trapped in the prison world.

Kai also reveals that only a Gemini Coven can stop her from doing further damage and warns Damon that it is not a good idea to enter the dark world of Lily.

Meanwhile, the elder Salvatore vampire may get closer to the Bennett witch, as she has always helped him, even put her own life at risk in order to help him escape from the Mystic Fall of 1994.

Somerhalder explains the latest equation with Bonnie to TV Guide. "Bonnie and Damon have a really great scene in this episode where Bonnie is just so fed up. She always gets hurt and is always the fall girl, and it's always so intense for her," he said.

"She tries her hardest to help people and it always backfires on her. This experience in the prison world made her a woman, and she's no longer going to deal with this bulls—."

The star also spoke about his character's psychology, as why he is so eager to locate his mother.

"The two most important women in his life, Katherine and his mother, abandoned him and didn't love him. That's a gnarly thing. So, he's going to spend some time trying to find out what really happened. It's a brutal thing for him to go through and he's going to have to figure it out."

The official synopsis of episode 17 titled A Bird In A Gilded Cage, reads:

With the help of Bonnie (Kat Graham)and Kai (guest star Chris Wood), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) set forth a plan to rescue Damon's mother Lily (guest star Annie Wersching), who is trapped in the 1903 prison world. Meanwhile, when Caroline's (Candice Accola) plan for Stefan (Paul Wesley) backfires, she is left to pick up the pieces. Elsewhere, back at Whitmore College, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and Alaric (Matt Davis) attempt to reel Caroline back in doesn't quite go as planned when they realize they're out maneuvered. Lastly, an unexpected gift from Bonnie leaves Damon shaken to his core.

According to the synopsis, Caroline will tempt Stefan to switch his humanity side off, resulting in the younger Salvatore vampire turning into a ripper.

The promo of episode 17 is not good news for Steroline fans as the couple turn violent and bloody as they go on a blood sucking spree.

Moreover, Bonnie hands a shocking gift to Damon, who gets shaken up by it. Stay tuned for more, when the show returns on the CW Network on Thursday.
