A house with one of the best views in Britain has been put up for sale in South Gower, near Swansea.

The two-bedroom property has a guide price of £595,000 and is located on Three Cliffs Bay, a former winner of the Britain's best beach award in the BBC's Holidays at Home programme.

The 1,294 sq ft house dates from the 1920s and boasts a conservatory and a balcony that runs the length of the property. The family bathroom has a rolltop bath and separate shower. Both the bedrooms have vaulted ceilings.

The property is being sold by artist Cheryl Ann Stone and her husband, through Savills estate agent. She told WalesOnline: "When you live on the Bristol Channel coast the weather becomes an integral part of life.

"Stormy weather usually arrives from the west heralded by the smell. You can really sense an imminent storm and then by the arrival of clouds that range through violet, indigo and umber.

"I am an artist and the sky is a never-ending source of inspiration for my brush as clouds, either fair weather or foul, make a headlong dash along their watery route to England."

The Gower is a popular destination with celebrities. The late actor Paul Newman visited the area for his daughter's wedding in 2005.

Michael Douglas and local Catherine Zeta Jones often visit while Jeremy Paxman said he enjoys spending time there.
