BBC breakfast viewers had their cereal served with a side of smut this morning (10 November), when they tuned in to hear the latest on Brexit.

Political correspondent Emma Vardy was presenting live from outside Westminster when the broadcast was interrupted by what appeared to be the cries of a woman reaching orgasm,.

Ever the professional, Vardy pulled off a flawless segment without flinching.

Although she appeared unfazed, viewers at home were left stunned. "Sure I just heard porn playing on BBC Breakfast. Sounded like girls moaning as some reporter talked outside Westminster," wrote on Twitter while another person said: "Brilliant someone playing the sex sound while bbc breakfast was live doing the news."

A third commentator applauding the presenter for not reacting to the ruckus: "Looooolllllll at someone putting the cheeky porn noise over a newsbroadcast on #bbcbreakfast this morning and fair play to the reporter for not laughing hahahaha xxx #funnytimes #happyfriday"

While the BBC has yet to release a statement on the cock-up, internet prankster Lee Marshall, aka Disco Boy, is taking responsibility.

The 31-year-old from Sturry, Canterbury, shared a behind-the-scenes clip of his channel with his 8K subscribers titled "Pranking the BBC Breakfast with Loud Sex Noises!"

In the video, he's seen with pals in a van yards from College Green. He says: "If you are watching the news and you hear a sex sound blaze out of it, it came from us" before panning the cameras over to some type of audio system. As Vardy is about to go live the signal is given to play the sex tape.

Marshall, who describes himself as an 'entertainer prankster DJ host', garnered a strong online following after posting videos of himself dancing in supermarkets wearing just his underpants.
