Watch Nashville season 3 episode 16 live online: Rayna helps Deacon and Christina Aguilera role revealed

Nashville returns with all new episode this Wednesday, 1 April at 10pm on the ABC television network.

Episode 16 is titled, I Can't Keep Away from You, where Rayna promises to help Deacon battle his illness.

The episode synopsis reads as follows:

Rayna refuses to let Deacon wallow in his condition, but her support only frustrates him and pushes him away. Meanwhile, Avery, Gunnar and Scarlett are opening for Rascal Flatts on tour, but, when her past public meltdown haunts her on social media, Scarlett becomes wary of performing again. Meanwhile, Jeff and Layla continue to blur the lines of business and pleasure, sending Layla into a state of confusion. Will is enjoying his new writing partner Kevin, but hits a bump in the road when Kevin is mysteriously no long available. Then, Sadie finds herself in a dangerous situation with her relentless ex-husband.

As previously reported, Christina Aguilera will guest star in the show as a popular pop-star.

The Voice judge will play Jade St. John, a successful pop star, on the drama, E Online reported. She will come to town for a two-night event in the Bridgestone Arena. During her guest spot, her character will reveal she wants to switch genres and sing country music.

"I can say my character is a successful pop singer who desperately wants to move into the country world, as that is her true passion," Aguilera told Billboard. "But she is caught between her passion and what the label wants her to do."
