Watch True Detective season 2 premiere live stream online: Murder of city manager ignites investigation

True Detective season 2 premieres this Sunday, 21 June, on HBO and fans of the crime thriller are eager to watch Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams and Vince Vaughn find their fate entangled after the murder of a city manager.

The premiere episode is titled The Western Book of The Dead and the official synopsis reads:

"The disappearance of a city manager disrupts a lucrative land scheme and ignites an investigation involving three police officers and a career criminal who is moving into legitimate business."

According to the plot synopsis, Ray Velcoro, a "compromised" detective and Ani Bezzerides will try to solve the murder mystery of Ben Caspar, a corrupt city manager of a fictional Californian city.

He was brutally murdered and his body was found on a lonely stretch of Pacific Coast Highway.

Police suspect the murder to be a case of the occult, as Satanic symbols will be seen etched on the chest of the victim. But soon Ray and Ani realise that there are much broader and darker implications to the investigation, than they had anticipated.

Show runner Nic Pizzolatto has already made it clear that season two of HBO's super hit crime drama will have no relationship with season one as the stories and characters are totally different.

The premiere episode of the upcoming season is titled Night Finds You. All the episodes of the second series are written by Pizzolatto.
