Watch Wayward Pines episode 5 online: Ben learns the truth about the mysterious creature as actor teases epic reveal

Wayward Pines returns with its fifth episode on 11 June at 9pm on Fox.

Episode 5 is titled The Truth, and is packed with jaw dropping twists and some major revelations.

According to the official synopsis, "Ethan ventures outside of Wayward Pines and is shocked by what he discovers. Meanwhile, Theresa reports to her new realty job and meets her first client who is as confused as Theresa about the eerie town and Ben goes through orientation and learns the truth about Wayward Pines from his teacher Megan Fisher (guest star Hope Davis)."

In episode 4, we saw Ethan taking over the sheriff's duties and Ben getting enrolled in the Wayward Pines academy. But by the end of the episode, Burke is successful in escaping the town, to look for answers.

The latest episode will deliver the answers to several burning questions and the truth about the mysterious happenings at the Wayward Pines town.

A new promo shows Ben at his school's orientation. His second day at Wayward Pines Academy kicks off with a lesson on the town's very strange history.

In the video, Mrs Fisher shows a picture slide-slow that promises to explain exactly what the electrified fence is protecting the townfolk from.

"This was our first real proof of their existence" says Fisher to Ben and two other students.

"What's existence?" questions one of the students, "Why don't you tell me" replies the teacher.

"BigFoot," jokes another student. The teacher then shows the students another picture which puts an end to their speculations.

The picture is of a mysterious beast and claims that it cost two lives to get hold of it.

So, is Wayward Pines surrounded by mysterious beasts?

Another promo confirms the doubts, as we see Ethan nearly coming face-to-face with the beast.

Ethan, who was successful in escaping the town in the last episode, is woken up by a mysterious noise.

He is then seen firing bullets in the dark, as the mysterious creature walks past him, injuring the Secret Service agent.

Who are these creatures? All your questions will be answered in the 11 June episode.

Actress Carla Gugino, who plays the role of Kate Hewson, teased some epic reveals in episode 5.

The actress told TV Line "This episode is the only one my character's not in, and it's one of my favorites. It's so well-structured, and I love the notion that they chose to make the biggest, most epic reveal in the middle of the season."

Gugino continued, "It allows the audience to be in on the information with us and to figure out what we're going to do about it. To me, as an audience member, that's an incredibly engaging idea."
