The official synopsis reads as follows:

After discovering the truth behind Wayward Pines, Ethan finds a bomb planted in his car, which makes him question people whom he thought he could trust. Meanwhile, Kate and Harold have a fertility consult meeting with Nurse Pam and Ben and Amy's (guest star Sarah Jeffery) relationship heats up in the all-new "Betrayal" episode of Wayward Pines

In episode 6, we learned how this wayward town actually came to be. David gives Ethan a tour and gives him the low-down on how the town functions. He also shared the back-story of how it all started.

David Pilcher also explains to the sheriff about a group of people who had formed a "resistance" group, and were plotting to challenge the town's unquestionable authority. It turns out that Kate and her husband are planning to blow up the fences to be free.

In the promo, Ethan tries telling Theresa and Kate the truth about the town, but it seems they don't quite believe him.

Ethan reminds Kate, who is locked up in jail, that they had a deal.

"They did something to you. You just don't know it. You will see, very soon we will be back in Seattle," Kate replies, as Ethan cuts her off, saying, "Forget it Kate, that's not going to happen."

Kate asserts, "It is not going to stop, it's just begun."

Meanwhile, Theresa, the town's new real estate agent, stumbles upon a piece of land, known as Plot 33, which is rumoured to be a passage to get back home for everyone trapped in the town.

Executive producer Chad Hodge teased that the mysterious, overgrown parcel of land called Plot 33, is the key to the season 1 finale.

Chad Hodge told Tvline, "I wouldn't say it's the show's next big mystery, but it's one of them. And it's a key to the final chapter of Wayward Pines," he answered.

"Someone who you might not be thinking about makes a brief reappearance," Hodge teases, "and it has to do with what's going on outside the fence separate from the Abbies."
