The Only Way is Essex haunt, The Sugar Hut, has come under fire again after a 10-man brawl outside the club ended in a footballer being paralysed from the waist down.

The former West Ham youngster is currently in intensive care and doctors are reported to be 'disappointed' with his lack of movement.

The goalkeeper who now plays for Ryman League outfit Billericay Town was taken to Queen's Hospital in Romford, Essex, where he is currently in stable condition.

Billericay Town Manager Craig Edwards said the team were shocked at what had happened. He told the Mirror: "So far this season he has been our most consistent player.

"He was really missed on Saturday just because his presence was not there in the changing room, in the tunnel and on the pitch."

The club also released a statement on their Seb site saying: "Nick has improved slightly. He has movement in his arms and toes but cannot move his legs.

"He is having an operation tomorrow to reduce swelling. It's too early to assess the full extent of his injuries.

"His parents would like to thank everyone for their kind messages and support."

Essex police have issued a statement saying: "Police are investigating the assault of a man in his 20 following a disturbance at the rear of a nightclub in Brentwood.

"The man was taken to Queen's Hospital in Romford with a neck injury and police believe an altercation took place which may have involved a group of around 10 men."

This comes just weeks after Sugar Hut VIP members and TOWIE stars Sam and Billie Faiers were brutally attacked. This will be the second case of violence surrounding TOWIE in two short weeks.

The Police are urging anyone with information on the attack to come forward by ringing either 103 if you live in Essex, 0300 333 4444 if you live outside of Essex or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
