Friends, the popular sitcom from the early 1990s, is a TV series that enjoys unmatched devotion until date as it has a nine-point rating on IMDB. Earlier in January, when the entire cast – Matthew Perry sent a televised message – of the 1994 hit comedy show decided to reunite for a special two-hour feature to honour director James Burrows, loyal fans of the show were overjoyed.
12 years after the NBC show aired its last episode that was watched by around 50 million American viewers, a greater mystery from the plot seems to have been solved. The identity of the infamous character, who was often described as the 'ugly naked guy' by the six central characters of the show, has been finally revealed, and it's actor Jon Haugen.
"There's only one Ugly Naked Guy, man, and that was me," Haugen revealed to The Huffington Post after some intense investigation.
This revelation not only brings a sense of closure for devoted fans of Friends, but also clarifies that Michael Hagerty did not play the much-talked about neighbour of Monica, Rachel, Chandler, Joey, and also Phoebe and Ross.
"I never played the Ugly Naked Guy," said Hagerty. But one thing is certain; that the actor was there on the show as Superintendent Mr Teeger, "And that said, I'd rather be known as Mr Treeger than the Ugly Naked Guy anyways," he added.
In case the 'ugly naked guy' from the nearly two-decade old show failed to register in memory, here's a reminder of the episodes he starred in. The perpetually nude neighbour of comedy drama Friends starring actors Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer appeared twice on-screen. He was seen in the season 3 episode titled The One With The Giant Poking Device and in the season 5 episode titled The One Where Everybody Finds Out.
