Wigan v Norwich

Saturday, 13 August

Wigan Athletic v Norwich City
DW Stadium
Kick off:
15.00 BST

Last season: N/A

Both sides look like early candidates for relegation and this opening fixture has all the hallmarks of a late-season "six-pointer".

Wigan have lost Charles N'Zogbia since narrowly avoiding relegation last term and Roberto Martinez's side are one of the favourites for the drop this season.

Similarly, Norwich look in danger of slipping straight down again. Manager Paul Lambert has brought in Everton's James Vaughan, Milwall's Steve Morison and Manchester United defender Ritchie De Laet but the Canaries could struggle if they don't pick up points from the teams around them.

Striker Hugo Rodallega is available for Wigan but Martinez is without midfielder James McCarthy (ankle) and defender Antolin Alcaraz (fatigue).
