Passengers who cause trouble on a Hong Kong Airlines flight could be biting off more than they can chew.

Air hostesses on the airline's daily flights between Gatwick and Hong Kong are all fully qualified in Wing Chun martial arts.

The training, which is compulsory for all of the airline's female cabin crew members means they will be prepared to defend themselves against any attackers, while the martial art is thought to aid mental strength and calm.

Wing Chun, which literally translates to mean "spring chant" is a martial art that is well suited to a confined space, such as the interior of an airport cabin, and is based on close-quarter strikes and grappling.
