Capgemini's Maggie Buggie has won a Woman of Achievement award in technology following her range of work empowering and inspiring other women in the technology industry.

Speaking at the Women in the City awards event to IBTimes TV, Buggie described her rise in the technology sector and how mentor schemes and encouraging girls at a younger age to get into the sector is key.

"This industry has provided me with wonderful opportunities and I am passionate about the role it plays in society and the particular contribution that women make to it," said Buggie, vice president and head of digital transformation sales at Capgemini.

The Women in the City awards panel said Buggie "brought her vision to reality and at the same time empowered and inspired those around her to achieve their goals as well."
