Jerry “The King” Lawler has been arrested WWE.com

Wrestler Jerry 'The King' Lawler and his fiancée, Lauryn McBride, have been arrested after an alleged confrontation in which Lawler allegedly put a gun on his kitchen table and told his partner to shoot herself.

Lawler, 66 and McBride, 27 and were arrested on 17 June at Lawler's Memphis home and are currently being held at Shelby County Jail.

It has been reported that McBride told police Lawler put a gun on the kitchen table and told her to 'go ahead and kill yourself', after hitting her in the head and pushing her against the oven, WMC Action News reported.

Lawler, who is a member of the WWE hall of fame, alleged McBride was intoxicated and said he had held her in the kitchen to prevent her from driving.

He is also said to have told police McBride kicked him in the groin, threw a candle at him and scratched him in the face – adding she brought the gun into the kitchen and threatened to kill herself.

The pair each alleged they were the victim in the attack, with police reportedly arrested both of them after being unable to decipher who had been responsible for the incident.

Lawler has been living with his fiancée at his home for five years and continues to work as a commentator for WWE.
