WWE SmackDown results: Kevin Owens takes on Chris Jericho for the United States title

The latest episode of WWE SmackDown Live saw some exciting matches aired from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, on Tuesday (2 May). In the main card, Kevin Owens took on Chris Jericho for the United States Championship, while in another featured match, Carmella and Natalya squared off with Charlotte and Naomi.

The show kicked off with Shane McMahon who introduced United States champion Chris Jericho to the blue brand. Shane then announced a fight between Y2J and Kevin Owens for the United States Championship.

AJ Styles entered and reminded Jericho that SmackDown was his house. The Phenomenal then said he would fight Jericho at Backlash if the latter still had the title after the fight with KO.

Kevin Owens stepped in next and called the trio pathetic for arguing about who would fight Jericho. He said he would destroy Jericho later that night. KO also told Styles to leave the ring as the matter did not concern the latter. As Styles stepped out he thrashed KO as the referees tried to stop the brawl.

Carmella and Natalya won with a schoolboy pin and a handful of tights from Carmella on Naomi.

Dolph Ziggler vs Sin Cara

Dolph Ziggler won with a superkick.
