An aspiring singer has revealed she was given the chop from The X Factor auditions after producers discovered her porn star past.

Contestant Becky Constantinou, also known as Brooklyn Blue, reportedly sailed through three rounds of auditions for the upcoming series but was given the boot after "background checks" were completed and it was discovered that she was an adult film star.

The 24 year old claims that she was recognised by a security guard at London's Wembley Arena, telling The Sun: "The guard came up to me with a knowing smile and said, 'I know you from somewhere, you're that Brooklyn girl'."

Days after the encounter, Constantinou says she received phone calls from producers on the show who began asking about her modelling history and if she used a stage name.

The model explained: "It was clear I'd been grassed up, but I did my best to dodge the questions. I then had a long think and decided to come clean in an email. They phoned me back to say I'm out. I'm devastated."

The adult film star, who once dated The Only Way Is Essex alum Kirk Norcross, admitted she was devastated by the news and was hoping to turn her career around, saying: "I know X Factor is a family show, but porn shouldn't define who I am. I was never going to put on a sex show for Simon."

An X Factor source confirmed that the model had been axed from the series, stating: "After checks, she was told she wouldn't be going further."

The upcoming series of Simon Cowell's singing competition has already been plagued with controversy after it was claimed new judge Rita Ora sent her own backing dancers through to boot camp.
