X-Men: Apocalypse, the upcoming movie from the blockbuster mutant movie franchise, won't premiere before 27 May 2016, but spoilers about the movie's plot keep coming to elate Wolverine fans.

There are reports that Hugh Jackman may return as Weapon X, as the movie's plotline is somewhat based on the classic graphic novel Age of Apocalypse.

The movie is expected to bring lots of surprises, along with bringing back Jean Grey and Cyclops, who died in X-Men 3, Storm and Nightcrawler, Ecumenicalnews reported.

Enstars suspects that the latest X-Men instalment will mark the reinvention of Jackman's Wolverine.

The rumoured movie plot

The movie is rumoured to explore the character of Apocalypse, who was born as the first mutant in Egypt with the 'X gene', which grants mutants superpowers.

However, the movie production house is yet to confirm the speculations.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Bryan Singer and producer-writer Simon Kinberg teased fans about how big the movie will be.

"From a visual standpoint it actually may be a bigger movie than Days of Future Past, because there'll be disaster movie imagery, like the title would imply," Singer said.

Singer also hinted that the movie X-Men: Days of the Future Past contains clues about the Apocalypse movie.

"You won't feel at the end of the movie that it set up Apocalypse. What it does is it sets up possibilities. But what we'll discover in Apocalypse is that events in this movie made that happen," Singer told EW.

"Apocalypse deals with ancient mutancy. What would humans have thought mutants were? What would mutants think humans were? You're dealing with gods and things like that. And what if one survived and what if that found its way into our world?" he added.
