The main draw of the Yones Denmark Open gets underway on Wednesday (19 October) after the qualifying matches came to an end on Tuesday. The Mixed doubles event started a day prior, but the singles and doubles players will play their first round matches on Wednesday.

Chen Long and Li Xuerui are the defending champions in the men's and women's singles events, respectively. However, both the players are not participating to defend their titles. World number one in the men's and women's categories Lee Chong Wei and Carolina Marin, respectively are the top seeds for the 2016 tournament.
