Jason Momoa may have just shared the most exciting news with his fans as he posted an image on his Instagram account sparking rumours that his character, Khal Drogo, might return in Game of Thrones season 7.
The Aquaman actor gave hints through a series of pictures on the image-sharing website that Daenerys Targaryen's dead husband might return in the upcoming season. Momoa is currently in Belfast, Ireland. In one of his pictures, he was shown posing with show creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
"@Guinness in Ireland. Drinking mothers milk With my brothers @captainriff Dan and David. Love ya GOT greatest show on earth," he captioned the image. But the most exciting part of his post was two words, massively teasing the return of the Khal. He wrote "ALOHA DROGO".
The website, Winter is Coming, reported that GoT showrunners are in Belfast for the pre-production. According to the website the Northern Ireland shooting schedule usually begins first and the Icelandic filming schedule will begin in October this year.
Drogo died in season one and Dany burned him in the pyre of wood during the final ritual and it was unlikely that he would return to the show as the Dothraki leader. However, chances are high that he might return as one of the Mother of the Dragons' dream. Considering, she is sailing to conquer the iron throne, for which she married to the warlord. Even, fans of the favourite GoT couple speculating the same.
"Dany burned his body guys, he's not coming back. At least not in life, maybe in a vision or a flashback.," one Instagram user commented on Momoa's picture.
"My lungs are literally tightening up right now I wanna cry. If comes back to got my life will becomplete..Make the sun rise in the west and set in the east already," wrote another.
The vision scene already took place in season 2, when the Queen of Meereen visited the House of the Undying and saw her beloved husband cradling their son Rhaego. However, she chose to leave them as she realised that they were dead and the happy moment with them was one of her illusion.
It will be interesting to see, if an emotional Dany will again see her family before, during or after the impending war she is going to fight in GoT season 7.
Filming for Game of Thrones season 7 will begin in a few months as the producers are waiting for the winter to set in.
