Britain is building houses again. Not enough, but at least house building on the rise.

But there's a problem – we don't have enough bricks.

After the financial crisis, the construction sector saw its output collapse. And that hurt the supply side, including the country's brick makers.

This has left a capacity shortage in the supply chain for builders.

One man in the middle of it all is Martin Warner.

He is the chief executive of Michelmersh, a brick maker with five sites across the UK that accounts for around 5% of the market.

IBTimes UK visited Michelmersh's Freshfield Lane site in Sussex to find out what Warner thinks of the construction recovery and its challenges.
