Sony has released 17.1.2.A.0.314 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Xperia Z2. XDA

Sony has rolled out a new firmware update with build number 17.1.2.A.0.314 for the latest Xperia Z flagship model.

Although this is not the latest Android 4.4.4, the 17.1.2.A.0.314 build is based on Android 4.4.2. According to the Xperia Update Checker, the generic firmware is available for the LTE variant of Xperia Z2 bearing model number D6503 in countries such as Thailand, Russia, Kuwait and Korea, reports Xperiablog.

The update does not bring any noticeable change. It also does not add the apps to the SD card feature. Sony has just seeded Android 4.4.2 upgrade for Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultra Dual. One of the significant changes in the update is the ability to move apps to the SD card.

Click on any app (Settings>>Apps), an option will appear saying "Move to SD card." Besides, Sony has also added another column called "On SD card" (under Settings>> Apps), showing the apps which are on the SD card.

Sony has also announced that the Android 4.4.2 update will be coming for Xperia E1, Xperia M2 and M2 Dual model soon. Hopefully, Sony will add the apps to the SD card feature in the upcoming KitKat update for the aforementioned Xperia devices.
