A commuter was reportedly left in tears after being handed a leaflet saying she was fat

A female commuter on the London Underground was reportedly left in tears after being "fat shamed" by a man handing out leaflets saying "You are a fat, ugly human" and "a waste of NHS money".

The cards were being handed out by a group purportedly called Overweight Haters Limited, which says it "hates and resents fat people." The tirade goes on to say "We object to the enormous amount of food resources you consume while half the world starves. We disapprove of you wasting NHS money to treat your selfish greed. And we do not understand why you fail to grasp that by eating less you will be better off, slimmer, happy and find a partner who is not a perverted chubby-lover, or even a partner at all."

It concludes: "We also object that the beatiful [sic] pig is used as an insult. You are not a pig. You are a fat, ugly human." Eyewitness Tom Knox wrote on Twitter that he saw a female commuter reduced to tears after a man gave her one of the leaflets before getting off the train they were on at Oxford Circus tube station. "For balance & sanity, my same Tube journey today BEGAN when I saw a woman approach a cold homeless guy - & offer to buy him coffee," he said.

Kara Florish, from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, posted a photo on Facebook of the card she received and issued a deft riposte to the man that gave it to her. She wrote: "To the person who wrote this card - go back to school, you can't spell beautiful."
