Substitute stripper Leon Zbudowskyj in action

A mini-riot broke out at a South Wales strip show when a Mediterranean adonis was replaced by a chubby eastern European stand-in at the last minute.

Women at the Baltic Inn in Pontyates were expected tanned and toned "Fabio", but got shambolic substitute Leon Zbudowskyi instead.

Resentment bubbled over into boos, and a large group of women began fighting when Zbudowskyi stood on a chair and spat foam at them.

The women bombarded Zbudowski with screwed-up napkins and spat at him, according to reports from the scene.

Five police cars rushed to the scene and Zbudowskyi was arrested on suspicion of assault during the brawl.

A police spokesman confirmed: "A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed pending further inquiries."

'Hit in the face with a wok'

Club compere Deborah Jones revealed that the crowd was extremely disappointed when they say Zbudowskyi. She said: "He looked like he had come off the street. He looked dirty, he was unshaven and he didn't have a six-pack.

"He was diabolical. He just didn't have anything, no music, no dance routine. In fact he looked like he had been hit in the face with a wok.

"He just wasn't the sort of person you wanted to see take their kit off."

The 150-strong women in the audience had each paid £10 for Fabio and anger quickly mounted as it became clear exactly how "un-Fabio" Zbudowskyi was.

One woman, who asked not to be named, said: "He just stood there, staring at everyone with a vacant look. It was immediately obvious he was no stripper."

Despite the spitting and mas brawl, club owner Viv Davies, 58, insisted a good night was had by all.

"It is not something that happens all the time and it was really quite unusual," he said. "But it didn't actually spoil much - it was a good night, everybody enjoyed themselves.

"It will not put us off holding events like that in the future. We have even set a date for the next one."
