Samsung Galaxy Note N7000

Samsung's Galaxy Note (N7000) users can now update their device with the new SuperNexus 2.0 custom firmware that is reported to turn the Galaxy Note into a Nexus device. This is an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) ROM with all the stock Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) features.

The ROM appears to look like all stock containing plenty of features such as zipaligned APKs, rooted (Super SU), Busybox installed, zero bloatware, Android source code improved and optimised, official Jelly Bean bootanimation and more. IBTimes UK warns users to proceed at their own risk.

Pre-requisites:

  • Ensure the device has at least 80 percent battery charge
  • Make sure that USB driver is installed
  • Enable USB debugging
  • Ensure the device is rooted and has ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery installed
  • Finally, make a backup of all the important data

To install SuperNexus Android 4.2.1 ROM on Galaxy Note (N7000):

  • Download SuperNexus Android 4.2.1 and Google Apps
  • Connect and mount the device on computer via USB cable and copy the downloaded files to the SD card
  • Switch the device off and disconnect from USB cable
  • The device should enter Recovery mode. Turn the device on while pressing the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together
  • In CMW recovery, perform data wipe. Scroll to and select Flash Zip from SD Card
  • Select Choose Zip from SD Card
  • Navigate to and select the ROM file. Confirm the installation by tapping on Yes and the installation process should begin now
  • Repeat the above step to install Google Apps
  • Go to +++++Go Back and reboot the device by choosing Reboot System Now

The Galaxy Note should now be running SuperNexus Android 4.2.1 custom ROM. To verify, browse to Settings > About Phone
