Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin endorsed billionaire businessman Donald Trump for party's 2016 presidential nominee at a campaign special announcement in Ames, Iowa on 19 January. Trump described her as a "special person" that he says he had known and been close with for some time. Palin rallied the audience together in support of Trump and his policies.
"Are you ready for a commander in chief who will let our warriors do their job and go 'kick ISIS' ass?' Ready for someone who will secure our borders, to secure our jobs and to secure our homes? Ready to make America great again?'" Palin said. "I'm here to support the next president of the United States, Donald Trump."
