South African Taxi Driver
Shocking CCTV footage from a South African petrol station shows a taxi driver deliberately running over a pedestrian

Video footage of a pedestrian being deliberately run over by a crazed taxi driver and then beaten up by him while uncaring shoppers stood and watched has sparked controversy after being posted online.

The graphic 90-second surveillance film shows the pedestrian just dodging the taxi as he crosses the road before the cabbie drives after him on the pavement and rams him, knocking him to the ground.

As the dazed man struggles to his feet in front of callous onlookers, the driver jumps out of his taxi and kicks him in the head, knocking him to the ground again.

Nobody goes to the man's aid.

The scene divided viewers. Some were shocked at the brutal support and the hard-hearted witnesses while others said the victim deserved to be beaten up for jaywalking.

The clip, which has been watched hundreds of thousands of times, has gone viral since it was surfaced on the internet.

One shocked viewer wrote: "People in other countries just dont care anymore..... this world"

Another said: " Stupid a** cut in front of a moving vehicle. The driver did what a lot of Americans with road rage wish they could do."
